So for Egypt I would definitely buy an overnight trip. Cairo/Luxor 3 nights and ti was awesome. We got to visit the pyramids and watch the sunrise from there, ride a camel, visit the valley of the kings and we even saw King tut's corpse (whats left of it...). The hotels we stayed at were gorgeous (5 stars ;) I don't think i'll ever stay in one again ha!) The food was really good too, they had a nice buffet for lunch and dinner. The Bazaar was really fun too, but you have to be careful, men will make you deals and take you walking around foreeeeeever. Definitely haggle.
Cairo is a big city, nothing like i expected. It's very chaotic and there's pollution and traffic, but every city has its charm, and Cairo's history is it. Im pretty sure that in the entire country people drive like maniacs (they did at every place we visited), taxis especially, so be careful. Also make sure you agree on a price before you get in a taxi, that way you can't get ripped off.
