Bulgaria

Bulgaria was another country for which I had no expectations what so ever. We visited Varna, a city on the Black Sea coast. I found that in Varna they are big volleyball fans and seem to be very athletic, even older men were fit! I didn't get to visit the area with most of the big clubs and bars (Golden sands), but I think varna was a party city wherever you were. People seemed to come vacation there from all over Europe; either for the beaches or the parties, or both! Which is pretty much what I did there too, I hung out at the beach, played some volleyball and partied at night. Varna was a big tourist spot and I found it difficult to become emerged in their culture, or even find out what their culture actually was. But none the less I had a good time. I mist mention that a couple of my friends went bungee jumping, there's a bridge somewhere and people were jumping off everyday (scary!).
One more piece of advice, Varna gets a little dangerous at night, so take care of your purses and wallets! (3 of us had our passports stolen, not cool). But either way, Varna was awesome, i would have never visited had it not been for SAS.

  2. yea you do, i had to fly to sofia (the capital) and get an emergency passport at the US embassy. luckily SAS has REALLY GOOD connections in all the countries you visit. they were sooo helpful and set me up with people that would drop me off and pick me up at each airport.
